Step

Set Up the VPS

  • Obtain an Ubuntu VPS (recommended version: Ubuntu 20.04).
  • Log into the VPS using the root user.
  • Run the following commands:

    sudo apt-get install -y git-core git clone

    https://github.com/GRIDNodes/GRID-MN.git

    cd GRID-MN && chmod +x ./GRID-MN.sh && ./GRID-MN.sh

Set Up the Local Wallet

  • Send a collateral of 500 GRID to a new wallet address.
  • In the wallet’s debug console, run:

    getmasternodeoutputs

  • This will provide the txid and output index required for the masternode.
  • Edit the masternode.conf file:

    mn1 VPS_IP:17050 masternode_genkey masternode_output output_index

  • Restart the wallet.
  • Launch the masternode from the debug console:

    startmasternode alias 0 mn1
